Responsibilities

Summary:
The Tax Intern will assist members of the tax department with the preparation of workpapers, documentation, process improvements, and tax research. In addition, this position will gain experience with financial and tax technology tools utilized by the tax department. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with Microsoft office software technology. This position will also assist with other administrative aspects supporting the tax function.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Tax Intern prepares, updates, and maintains certain workpapers and documentation supporting various functions within the tax department.
  • Assists with certain tax research assignments.
  • Assists with other administrative functions within the tax department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in college with a major in Tax, Accounting, Business Administration or Finance field and have completed at least thirty (30) semester credit hours.
  • Microsoft office software experience is required.
  • Prior tax or accounting experience and data management software is preferred.
  • Above average written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively comprehend assignments and complete within prescribed parameters and timing.
  • Solid organizational skills.
  • Clear and effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with staff inside the department.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and exercise judgment.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
