KPMG is currently seeking a Director, Private Equity IT M&A -Due Diligence and Value Creation to join our KPMG Strategy practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a high-volume pipeline of rapid IT due diligenceprojects for Private Equity clients, assessing platform and add-onacquisitions; utilize AI-powered tools to accelerate analysis, identify keytechnology risks, value creation levers, carve-out complexities, and requiredinvestments, delivering concise, actionable reports for investment committees
  • Develop and execute post-close technologyvalue creation and optimization roadmaps for portfolio companies; leadinitiatives focused on platform modernization, cost take-out, operating modelredesign, and the implementation of data analytics and automation to acceleratethe investment thesis and drive EBITDA improvement
  • Direct IT integration and carve-out initiativesfrom planning through execution; establish and manage governance frameworks forvalue creation programs, ensuring rigorous oversight of execution, trackingsynergy realization, cost savings, and ROI on technology investments, andreporting progress to PE stakeholders and portfolio leadership
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategiesfocused on technology-driven value creation for the PE sector; act as a keythought leader on how to leverage technology, including AI/ML, to drivescalability and strategic advantage across portfolio companies
  • Lead strategic discussions andpresentations with key stakeholders, including PE deal teams, operatingpartners, and portfolio company executives, acting as a trusted advisor ontechnology strategy from diligence through exit
  • Lead efforts to mentor and develop junior staff, fosteringdeep expertise in the fast-paced PE deal lifecycle, technology value creationmethodologies, and delivery excellence
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment

Qualifications:

  • Minimum eight years of recent experience in technology, with a strongpreference for candidates who have held in-house technology leadership roles(such as CIO, CTO, VP Engineering) within a PE-backed company or a high-growthtech firm; consulting experience focused on the PE sector is also valuable
  • Master's of Business Administration degree from an accredited college or university is preferred; Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, or a related fieldis required
  • Demonstrated success in leading high-impacttechnology projects in areas such as IT due diligence, technology valuecreation, post-merger integration, or IT architecture modernization. Provenability to leverage AI-powered tools and platforms to accelerate due diligence,identify opportunities, and enhance project delivery
  • Proven track record operating in the fast-paced, high-stakesenvironment of Private Equity, leading technology engagements from pre-dealdiligence through post-close value creation. Experience with portfoliocompanies in sectors such as Technology, Software, and other tech-enabledindustries is highly preferred
  • Comprehensive understanding of modern enterprise ITecosystems, including cloud platforms, business applications, infrastructure,and cybersecurity; familiarity with the security, data privacy, andconsiderations of implementing AI/ML solutions
  • Experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies anddriving business growth, specifically by building and nurturing relationshipswith PE operating partners and deal teams
  • Willingnessand ability to travel as needed to serve client needs.

California Salary Range: $195415 - $370530
