Job Description

Asa Staff Product Manager on the SSD marketing team, you will work cross-functionally with sales, engineering, operations, and management to drive product awareness and design wins for KIOXIA SSD products.You will have the opportunity to define new products and product strategies and will be responsible for setting the product's strategic vision in addition to optimizing the product's market position and financial returns consistent with corporate key initiatives. You will understand customer applications and ecosystems and have insight into their challenges andhow to solve them.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the "go-to person" for your product line, driving product strategy, roadmap definition, and technical/business plans for KIOXIA's next-generation client SSDs (laptop, notebook, and mobile platforms)
  • Steer and align marketing, sales, engineering, operations, and support teams within KIOXIA to ensure successful execution and market adoption of your product line(s)
  • Drive OEM customer requirements and market trends into market requirement documents (MRDs) for next-generation product development, with a strong focus on client workloads, power efficiency, and form factor constraints
  • Build and execute go-to-market strategies for client SSD products, including pricing, positioning, segmentation, and launch readiness with key OEMs
  • Develop and maintain deep relationships with key OEM customers (laptop/notebook manufacturers), acting as the primary interface for product definition, design wins, and issue resolution
  • Analyze market trends and competitive products, including performance, power, cost, and feature positioning, to define winning strategies in the client SSD space
  • Drive design wins and OEM qualifications, including:
    • Managing AVL processes, platform validation, and compatibility testing across OEM platforms
    • Supporting system integration requirements (BIOS/firmware, thermals, power states, form factors such as M.2)
  • Oversee pre-sales technical engagement, including RFQs, RFIs, specification alignment, and gap analysis in collaboration with technical marketing and customer support teams
  • Provide product and market-centric content for internal teams and OEM-facing collateral, including presentations, briefs, and competitive positioning
  • Own the full product lifecycle management from concept and definition through development, launch, volume ramp, and end-of-life
  • Act as a subject matter expert and product evangelist, representing KIOXIA with OEMs, partners, and at industry/customer events
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field; MBA preferred
  • 7+ years of product management experience in SSDs, storage, semiconductors, or related client hardware technologies
  • Prior experience working with tier-1 OEMs (laptop/notebook manufacturers) or client platform ecosystems strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Client SSD architecture, NAND flash, and controller/SoC design
    • NVMe and PCIe interfaces (Gen3/4/5) in client environments
    • Client platform requirements, including power management (APST, low-power states), thermals, and form factors (M.2, BGA SSDs)
  • Familiarity with:
    • Client operating systems and drivers (Windows, Linux) and storage stacks
    • Platform validation processes and OEM qualification cycles
    • Emerging client trends such as AI PCs, edge workloads, and power/performance optimization
  • Proven ability to translate technical, market, and customer requirements into differentiated product features and roadmaps
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with experience working across global teams and diverse OEM customer bases
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical and business concepts effectively
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively under uncertainty, and drive execution across cross-functional teams
  • Role may require cross-segment flexibility in the future, with the opportunity to rotate between Client (OEM/Notebook), Hyperscale/Data Center or Enterprise (Large OEMs) SSD Product Management to build broad domain expertise and drive unified product strategy
  • Willingness to travel (~20%), domestic and international, to support OEM engagements and design activities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with OEM design-in cycles, platform bring-up, and mass production ramps
  • Understanding of client benchmarking, performance tuning, and power optimization techniques
  • Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements (e.g., NVMe, PCI-SIG)
  • Experience collaborating with ecosystem partners (CPU/platform vendors such as Intel/AMD, OS vendors, BIOS/firmware teams)
  • Exposure to commercial segmentation (consumer, commercial, gaming, workstation PCs) and associated requirements

The expected salary for this position is$144,330.00 - $240,550.00.
