Job Description

The Learning Commons provides centralized academic support for University of Cincinnati students.We bring together faculty, best-practices in teaching and learning, and hundreds of outstanding peer educators to create flexible academic success programming. We're seeking motivated candidates who enjoy working in a fast-moving environment to help students achieve their full potential!



This position will support the development and management of First Year Experience Learning Communities. This may include assisting in undergraduate and graduate staff hiring and training, student staff observations, curriculum development, data collection and analysis, and leading the Learning Communities program's unique student attendance process. The Graduate Assistant may also assist in evaluating and creating new programmatic goals and procedures.

Past experience working in first-year experience, the Learning Commons, or other student support services is not required but is preferred.

Compensation and Logistics

Hours:This is a10-hour per week appointment.



Duration:The position will run fromJune 22nd,2026,toJune 18th,2027,with theoptionto continue into thesubsequentacademic year.There may also bean optionto begin earlier in the summer if available.



Pay:The position is a$9,000stipend position with pay thataverages to$19.56per hour.GraduateAssistantsare not required towork duringuniversity breaks.If needed, GraduateAssistantswill be paid separatelyfor time worked duringthese weeks.

Must be registered for at least twelve graduate credit hours each quarter of the academic year. Must meet eligibility criteria published by graduate programs that make awards and appointments.
