SUMMARY

This position is responsible for servicing the Court House and other County buildings performing a variety of duties which may include, but are not limited to, the delivery of supplies, snow removal, painting and minor repairs.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform minor carpentry tasks such as repairs to windows, doors and minor renovations. This will include the use of tools/power tools.
  • Painting, caulking, striping parking lots and installing parking blocks are now a responsibility of Building Services II.
  • Power-washing County buildings such as the Court House, Library, etc.
  • Personnel are charged with the timely delivery of supplies, bottled water, furniture, etc. to various County locations, and the loading and unloading of the items, and the distribution of same. Many deliveries may be time-sensitive and fragile.
  • Building Services II personnel are required to provide the setup for special events such as news conferences, dedications, etc. This will include providing appropriate seating, podiums, speakers, water, etc. Setups may be required without prior notification.
  • Building Services such as snow/ice removal, cleaning the outside of County buildings using sweepers, cleaning marble, digging, grout cleaning, etc. Snow emergencies will require mandatory overtime hours.
  • Completing all painting work orders.
  • Repair/seal concrete as assigned.
  • Building Services II personnel will receive any designated assignment from supervisors. Each chore will receive appropriate attention.
  • Individual is required to be familiar and follow guidelines for the utilization of safety equipment for operating vehicles, trucks, sweepers, plows, power tools, etc.
  • County landscaping equipment repairs including lawnmowers, snow blowers, etc.
  • Duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of mechanical repairs.
  • Current/valid PA Driver's License.
  • Communication skills.
  • Completion of Safety Training required.
  • Basic knowledge of the use of power tools.
