Division of Animal Sciences Job Description
The University of Missouri invites applications for the position of Director, Plant Operations in the Division of Animal Sciences, an academic unit of the College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources. We are seeking a qualified candidate to manage the new Michael L. Parsons Meat Science Education and Training Laboratory. The selected individual will coordinate livestock and meat procurement, manage regulatory correspondence and compliance, and supervise processing staff. Other responsibilities include maintaining compliance with humane slaughter standards, managing equipment maintenance, and supervising daily plant operations. The individual will collaborate with current meat science faculty and programs at the University of Missouri, including but not limited to workforce development, Mizzou Meat Judging Team, the Missouri Association of Meat Processors extension program, and the Show-Me Meat Education and Training programs. 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. Monday - Friday Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in Animal Science or Meat Science Animal handling experience and knowledge of animal anatomy At least 5 years of experience in meat processing Must be able to lift 100 lbs repeatedly Must be Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) certified Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $69,097.60- $85,000.00,annually. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
