The Sr. Business Analyst (BA) will be responsible for analyzing and documenting business and information needs and requirements of the business. In this role the Sr.BA will provide supportive services for SAP FI/CO and other Finance systems and will collaborate with global team to manage the SAP environment. The Sr. BA will assist with the design, implementation, and maintenance of Simpson Strong Tie's corporate SAP ERP System, with a focus on Finance. The Position's focus will be on ensuring that solutions designed in our SAP ERP environment are done with sustainable, high quality, and best practice design in mind. The ideal candidate will be experienced in the FI/CO and related SAP modules as a functional/technical expert and hands-on configurator, but will have also had a broad understanding of SAP. You should have implementation experience with a global manufacturing company, and understand both systems configuration, and overall systems architecture in an SAP environment. The Sr. Business Analyst will also be responsible for technical delivery and have project management responsibilities as part of your job role. This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills to interface and manage relationships with business partners, IT, senior management and vendor organizations. This position is a member of the Global IT Applications team reporting to the Director, ERP & Finance Applications.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time)

Configure financial accounting, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, fixed asset, new general ledger, cost elements, cost center accounting, internal orders, product costing, profitability analysis, and profit center accounting utilizing a fundamental understanding of Accounting principles specifically SAP FICO functional knowledge. Ensure end to end business processes. Seek to use best practices, standards to provide solutions to meet Simpson's business objectives. (40%)

Translate user's requests into systems requirements. Analyze systems requirements to define and design system configuration, enhancements, and modifications. Resolve business issues by working with various groups within and outside of the company (i.e. system users, company management, consultants, software support staff). Work in multidisciplinary teams to define and design complex processes and procedures for the configuration, upgrade, and maintenance of SAP and related application systems. Design test plans, execute test scenarios, validate test data, and document test results. Coordinate end-user training documentation and train end users as required. Manage projects of small size and scope with minimal direction including project planning, execution, timing, functionality.(30%)

Work with outside partners and vendor organizations, providing oversight on deliverables. Ensure that we have consistency across all our processes and enhancement work. Ensure that work provided by partners meets Simpson's internal standards, and is ultimately accountable for the solutions delivered.(15%)

Participate and provide input to overall IT Systems and Applications Strategy for IT, and drives the overall realization of value for IT Initiatives. Will be jointly responsible for Data Governance initiatives and will help to make sure that Data Governance goals are met. (15%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems or other related degree, required.
  • SAP Certification in FI and CO modules, preferred.
  • 3 years of SAP Implementation experience with hands-on configuration experience in the FI/CO Modules.
  • 3 years of experience designing custom solutions within the ECC landscape as well as solutions involving integrations with external systems.
  • 2 years of experience of translating business requirements into an SAP solution design.
  • 2 years of experience in Accounting or Finance processes.
  • 2 years of experience in Corporate accounting or financial analysis experience.
  • 2 years of hands on experience with Onesource.
  • Technical Expertise: SAP Configuration experience across in the FI and CO modules. Knowledge of SAP architecture and best practice design. Knowledge of SAP Landscape architecture design, project implementation methodologies and implementation expertise. Domestic and international implementation experience. SAP Hana S4 platform experience and OneSource Tax.
  • Leadership: Self-starter who demonstrates creativity in solving problems or generating improvement ideas. Able to prioritize competing or conflicting requests. Must exhibit strong communication skills. Supports and maintains positive attitude and vision with peers, associates,team members and management.
  • Project Management: Ability to meet strict deadlines and work with multiple groups and stakeholders to deliver solutions. Demonstrated success working with business partners to evaluate, recommend, and implement highly available, secure, mission-critical applications. Demonstrated experience managing projects within a defined SDLC process.
  • Collaboration: Regularly interacts with members of the Simpson IT team, and Business SMEs and Users. Regularly interacts with business partners, third party vendors, and industry professional colleagues.

TRAVEL

This position requires domestic and international travel up to 10% of the time.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, exempt role is based in Pleasanton, CA or Plano, TX.

RELOCATION

Relocation is not available for this position.

PAY

$93,400 - $190,600 / year
