HRIS Specialist II - Richardson, TX!

The HRIS Specialist supports the administration, reporting, and optimization of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). This role focuses heavily on building and maintaining reports and dashboards, with a preference for BI tools such as Cognos. The HRIS Analyst/Specialist partners with HR, Payroll, and business leaders to deliver accurate, timely data and insights while supporting the Senior HRIS Analyst in system enhancements, reporting strategy, and ongoing HRIS initiatives.

What you will do:



  • Develop, maintain, and run HR reports and dashboards for workforce metrics such as headcount, turnover, recruiting, and performance.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity through validation, audits, and troubleshooting of discrepancies.
  • Assist in translating business requirements into reporting and dashboard solutions.
  • Support recurring reporting cycles (monthly, quarterly, annual) with accurate and timely outputs.
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, and Talent teams to fulfill reporting and analytics requests.
  • Assist the Senior HRIS Analyst with system enhancements, testing (UAT), and implementation activities.
  • Document report logic, data definitions, and dashboard structures.
  • Provide user support for HRIS reporting tools and troubleshoot basic system/reporting issues.
  • Support data governance practices and standardization of HR metrics and definitions.


What you will need:



  • Working knowledge of HRIS platforms (UKG preferred) and reporting tools.
  • Experience with BI tools such as Cognos, Power BI, or Tableau (Cognos preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).
  • Ability to translate data into clear and usable reports and dashboards.
  • Strong communication skills to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Basic understanding of HR processes (payroll, benefits, talent management).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in HRIS, reporting, or data analytics.
  • Experience working with HR systems and BI/reporting tools.
  • Relevant certifications (HRIS, analytics, or HR) are a plus.
  • Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to travel to various work / office locations.
  • Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
