The hardworking coworkers of Electric Engineering ensure all manners of electric engineering-including electric standards and process safety, electric design engineering, instrumentation testing and controls, undergrounding, electric regulatory compliance and electric investment planning-are in place to safely enable a strategic and stable workplan for our Electric Operations partners. Our organization is accountable for program planning, financial budgeting, and project execution and delivery of all electric engineering projects. Electric Engineering is comprised of approximately 2,000 coworkers.

Position Summary

The Engineering Assistant Intern provides entrylevel technical and administrative support to engineering teams while gaining handson experience in an engineering environment. Under close supervision, the intern assists engineers and Engineering Assistants with basic engineering support activities, document management, data tracking, and coordination tasks related to the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of utility facilities.

This position is intended to support learning and professional development by exposing the intern to engineering workflows, systems, and standards while contributing to the daytoday operational needs. The Engineering Assistant Intern works collaboratively with engineers, supervisors, and crossfunctional partners and is expected to follow established procedures, safety requirements, and documentation standards.

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $24.52 to $35.37

Responsibilities

  • Assist engineers and Engineering Assistants with basic technical and administrative support tasks under close supervision
  • Support the preparation, organization, and maintenance of engineering drawings, project files, and documentation
  • Help collect, organize, and enter engineering and project data into tracking tools, spreadsheets, or internal systems
  • Perform basic data review, cleanup, and validation to support reporting accuracy and project tracking
  • Assist with document control activities, including filing, version control, and document uploads to shared repositories (e.g., SharePoint or similar systems)
  • Help coordinate information between engineers, supervisors, and crossfunctional teams by tracking requests and updates
  • Follow established engineering procedures, safety requirements, and documentation standards
  • Learn and apply basic engineering concepts, tools, and workflows through handson project support
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned to support team objectives and learning goals

The successful intern will have the opportunity to learn about these activities as describedaboveworking with a team of experienced professionals. Additionally, the intern will gain knowledge of the larger Electric Engineering organization through the work they will be performing.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Data Science, or related field in a full-time capacity at an accredited university
  • Students must be continuing their education towards degree during and after the internship

Desired:

  • 3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA
  • Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communicationskills, both oral and written
