Essential Job Duties
The College of Veterinary Medicine's ( CVM) Computing Resources unit is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Application Developer to join our team. We are looking for an individual with an academic background or up to 2 years of professional experience, who has a strong desire to learn and grow in a professional development environment.

The developer will work closely with our senior team members, providing support on new features, bug fixes, and well-defined development tasks across our application portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience by contributing to essential internal applications. Prior coursework or practical experience with ColdFusion is highly desirable.

Work Schedule M-F - 7a-5p (20 - 40 Hours)
Other Work/Responsibilities
* Assist in the design, coding, testing, and deployment of web applications and services.
* Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of existing applications, with guidance from senior developers.
* Learn and apply best practices for integrating web applications with backend database systems (Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL, etc.).
* Participate in code reviews and collaborate effectively within an agile development process.
Minimum Experience/Education
High School + 2 Years of relevant experience
Department Required Skills
* Foundational knowledge of web application programming, with a preference for experience
in ColdFusion or other languages like PHP.
* Understanding of relational databases and basic SQL.
* Eagerness to learn and strong problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills-must be comfortable asking questions
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
* ColdFusion (Highly preferred)
* SQL (Oracle/Postgres/MS SQL/MySQL)
* HTML, CSS, and Javascript
* Version Control systems (e.g., Git)
* Other scripting languages (e.g., Python, PHP)
-Experience in the following areas is a bonus-
*Working with APIs and web services.
*Knowledge of healthcare integration standards like Mirth or HL7.
