Note: This position is a temporary position working various hours and is not benefit eligible.

Creighton University's Phoenix Health Sciences Campus is home to six unique healthcare programs, all of which use simulation to develop student learning. Being an SP impacts the students' experience during their education and can be greatly rewarding.

Hours are flexible and are dependent upon which scheduled events are selected by the SP for participation. Most events occur Monday-Friday between the hours of 8am and 5pm with some weekend events available.

SPs will be asked to attend mandatory trainings which could be in person or via zoom. Events will largely occur in-person at Creighton's Phoenix Health Sciences Campus located on 3100 N Central Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85012.

Essential Functions:




  • Part of simulation includes utilizing Standardized Patients (SP) for simulated clinical encounters, physical exams, interviews and more!


  • SPs are people who portray patients in educational simulated encounters with students.


  • SPs are trained to be able to recreate physical characteristics, memorize and present medical histories, and have physical exams performed on them.


  • An SP will also be trained to provide feedback to students on their communication skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Meet specific patient criteria for the case.
  • Ability to be on time to attend events and trainings.
  • Great communication skills (in-person, phone, and email) and willingness to provide students with constructive feedback.
  • Ability to memorize information about the patient's physical condition and history.
  • Reliable transportation to Phoenix campus.
  • After training, able to provide feedback in written and verbal form
