Position Overview:
Belcan is adding to our network of 1099 consultants to support upcoming and anticipated customer programs. We are looking for professionals to deploy to customer and supplier sites to perform supplier audits, assessments, and quality system evaluations aligned to aerospace industry standards / AS9100.
This role is ideal for consultants who are comfortable operating independently in dynamic environments, representing Belcan at customer and supplier locations, and delivering clear, actionable audit outcomes.
Engagements will be project-based and may involve rapid deployment in response to supplier quality risks, new program launches, or customer-driven initiatives.

Core job duties:
*Deploy to supplier and customer sites to perform process and quality system audits
*Evaluate supplier compliance to AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements
*Conduct gap assessments and provide detailed audit reports with findings and recommendations
*Support supplier qualification, approval, and development activities
*Identify risks within manufacturing and quality systems and recommend corrective actions
*Partner with customer teams to ensure supplier performance meets program requirements
*Drive root cause and corrective action (RCCA) processes with suppliers
*Provide guidance on PPAP, PFMEA, FAI, and control plans as needed
*Communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders including supplier leadership, engineering, and procurement teams

Core Skills and Qualifications:
* Extensive experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or Supplier Auditing within aerospace manufacturing settings
* Strong working knowledge of AS9100 standards
* Proven ability to conduct independent supplier audits and assessments
* Experience working with aerospace, automotive, or industrial manufacturing suppliers
* Ability to operate autonomously at customer/supplier sites while representing client interests
* Willingness and ability to travel frequently and deploy on short notice
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on practical, implementable solutions

Other relevant skills:
*Lead Auditor certification (AS9100 or ISO 9001)
*Hands-on manufacturing or shop floor experience
*Experience with supplier development and performance improvement initiatives
*Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems
*Lean Six Sigma background
*Experience supporting cost reduction and process improvement efforts
