Position Summary: The Product Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining Strategic Product Plans for their line of products. This position has full responsibility for the P&L of the product line, with sole ownership of revenue, margin, and cost. They will be responsible for defining new market opportunities and growing the business to meet the strategic goals of the company. The Product Manager will be responsible for developing and managing an organizational structure to support the growth strategy defined by the executive management team, they will be tasked with owning the full lifecycle of the product line from inception until obsolescence, and they will be charged with delivering financial projections, product forecasts, NPI deliverables, inventory management, and product line strategic planning. This role requires 3-5 years in the shooting sports industry in Product Management, NPI management, Engineering, or similar role. This role works closely with Sales, Research & Development, Operations, suppliers, distributors, and customers.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Conduct market research to understand customers' needs, turning those needs into sound business plans.
  • Capture and develop new product ideas and create product requirement documents for product, packaging, accessories, and manuals.
  • Lead team for the full-spectrum creation of NPI throughout all stages. Coordinate with Engineering and NPI Management throughout product development.
  • Strategically collaborate with Marketing to lead the development of NPI and sustainment marketing campaigns, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and market needs.
  • Capture sales forecast and help to generate production build plan.
  • Lead team to manage product holds by Quality, Engineering, Legal, Product Management, etc.
  • Plan NPI launch schedule, initial launch quantities, and allocation strategy in concert with Sales.
  • Lead and strategically guide adjacent business units (Sales, Sales Operations, Customer Service, Repair Depot, Marketing, SEC, etc.) in understanding and preparing for upcoming NPI, ensuring alignment and seamless integration across functions.
  • Lead team to manage and update product portfolio for website and price list production.
  • Lead team to coordinate with 3rd party vendors to support both products and accessories.
  • Lead team for inventory management by reviewing and execution of old or slow-moving inventory.
  • Act as the voice of the customer for the entire organization, from aesthetics to performance.
  • Maintain P&L of the individual products.
  • Act as Sr. Product Manager in the Sr. Product Manager's absence.
  • Maintain product line annual revenue and margin targets.
  • Review press releases prior to launch. Conduct press interviews as required.
  • Train, mentor, and develop team members to ensure optimized productivity, effectiveness, efficiency, and quality.
  • Participate on problem solving teams for driving to root cause of internal and external quality failures, particularly related to prevention of customer escapes.
  • Travel to events and tradeshows as required.
  • Engage in and actively volunteer for Continuous Improvement projects/tasks.
  • Participate in and sustain 5S Standards.
  • Must follow all required Safety and ISO procedures.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.


Education/Experience & Skills:



  • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3-5 years in the shooting sports industry in Product Management, NPI management, Engineering, or similar role.
  • Substantial knowledge of industry product portfolio.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, collaboration, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Must possess strong lifecycle management, technical knowledge, task prioritization, and data analysis skills.
  • Strong business acumen, creativity, innovation, market research and analysis, strategic thinking, and financial literacy capabilities.
  • Exceptional problem solving, critical thinking, adaptability, decision making, vision, road mapping, project tracking, and risk management abilities.
  • Product or Project Management certificate preferred.
  • Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word required, Monday.com, Agile/PLM, Oracle, and 3+ years of previous experience with Product Lifecycle Management system preferred.
  • Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, both verbally and in written form.


Working Conditions:



  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer using a keyboard and mouse performing repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to open file cabinets, reach with hands and arms, bend, and twist, lift and move files.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
  • Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. Security Mandates.
