Genetics Assistant-NCMG Neurology, Days

The Genetics Assistant provides support to Genetic Counselors. Genetics Assistant handles the work necessary for the counselor/physician to provide the counseling session including taking a thorough family history and understanding the relevance of familial syndromes, collection of relevant medical records, collection of previous genetic testing records when appropriate, coordination of care with testing laboratories, process genetic testing and review reports, coordination of patient care when multiple physician or clinical departments are involved. Assist with administrative duties and flow of department.

Required:

• One year in a clinical setting and must have hospital and/or payer credentialing completed before functioning in this role
• Associate Degree

Desired:

• One year in a genetic clinical setting
• Associate Degree in a biological or health science
