| Job Description |
The Assistant Dean of
BSS supports the dean in providing administrative management and leadership in the division and in furthering the academic mission and direction of the College. The responsibilities of the Assistant Dean also include managing division logistics for dual enrollment and non-credit programs, grants and the onboarding, development, scheduling, and handling of student concerns for all of the division's adjuncts. The Assistant Dean also works closely with division faculty and staff to provide support for initiatives and curriculum and program development that promote student success.
This is an exempt, professional staff position.
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

| Required Education |
Master's degree in Behavioral & Social Sciences (
BSS) or related discipline |
| Required Experience |
- Minimum of three years of teaching in one of the disciplines (or related) within BSS
- Minimum of one year of successful leadership in a higher education setting
|
| Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities |
- Working knowledge in assessment and improvement of instruction and curriculum
- Strong program and project management skills
- Knowledge of high-impact educational practices and inclusive teaching strategies
- Ability to promote uses of technology for instructional delivery in face-to-face and online settings written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, with intermediate skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Prior Community College experience
- Experience with dual enrollment initiatives
- Advanced Skills in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Banner and/or Brightspace Learning Management System
