Database Engineer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Database Engineer for a position located in Phoenix, AZ. This is a 24+ month contract opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Database Engineering
• Contribute to large-scale planning related to Database Engineering deliverables
• Review and analyze moderately complex Database Engineering challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
• Lead and participate in database management activities including designing highly complex MongoDB, EDB PostgreSQL and YugabyteDB databases
• Lead highly complex data modeling, mapping, integration, and capacity planning efforts for MongoDB, EDB PostgreSQL and YugabyteDB databases
• Perform the planning, research, design, implementation, maintenance, and control of server class databases
• Design and implement security solutions including Center for Internet Security benchmarks and auditing
• Design and certify next generation database technologies
• Consult with and advise management and multiple clients on high impact data or database management issues, influencing strategic direction
• Provide technical leadership and recommendation into the future direction of database technology
• Develop management policies, procedures, standards, and best practices
• Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
• Streamline repeatable build and operational support practices that scale with technology changes through automation
• Develop database high availability and replication solutions to meet the requirements of high tier applications
• Gain technical depth and breadth with new features, products and tools to serve as a subject matter expert
• Drive adoption of standard operational practices to deliver highly available solutions
• Participate with an on-call DBA rotation

Requirements:

• 5+ years of Database Operations experience with MongoDB, EDB PostgreSQL and YugabyteDB
• Ability to see the big picture and influence future direction
• Ability to take a lead role in projects that have a broad impact
• Strong Customer Service Focus

Pay range: $43.59 - $51.59 per hour
