Cerner Revenue Cycle Consultant (Remote) *Location:* 100% Remote
*Type:* Contract (3-6 months with potential extension) *Schedule:* Full-time, standard business hours (MST) Overview A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced *Cerner Millennium Revenue Cycle Consultant* to support hospital billing operations during an upcoming transition from Cerner to Epic. This is a hands-on, operational role focused on accounts receivable and hospital billing support-not an IT position. This consultant will serve as a subject matter expert in Cerner, supporting AR cleanup, billing operations, and cash posting while providing guidance to billing teams and leadership throughout the transition. Key Responsibilities * Serve as a Cerner Millennium Revenue Cycle SME, partnering closely with Patient Financial Services (PFS) leadership and AR teams * Perform hands-on *insurance AR, billing, collections, and cash posting* work within Cerner * Support billing cleanup efforts in preparation for Cerner wind-down and post-Epic go-live outsourcing * Resolve unclosed and zero-dollar worklist items and identify opportunities for AR optimization and cash recovery * Answer day-to-day questions from billing staff and leadership regarding Cerner workflows and A/R tasks * Create and optimize Cerner processes, workflows, and documentation * Coach and guide team members and leaders while maintaining individual production * Improve A/R efficiency and operational stability throughout the Epic implementation *Note:* This role does not include direct people management but requires strong leadership presence and the ability to influence and coach across teams. Required Qualifications * *3-4+ years of hands-on experience with Cerner Millennium*, with expert-level navigation and workflow knowledge * *5+ years of full-cycle medical billing experience* in a hospital environment * Strong background in *insurance AR, collections, billing, cash posting, credits, and refunds* * *Experience identifying and resolving Cerner worklist issues, including zero-dollar and unworked items* * *2+ years in a lead or SME role*, comfortable supporting and advising team members, managers, and directors * *At least 1 year of experience working in Epic* Preferred Qualifications * Experience supporting organizations during *Epic implementations or go-lives* * *Familiarity with both Cerner cleanup activities and Epic transition readiness* * *Strong documentation, training, and process optimization skills* Work Environment * Fully remote * Collaborative, fast-paced environment working closely with executive and director-level leadership * High-change setting requiring adaptability and strong problem-solving skills * Focused on hospital billing A/R, collections, denials, credits, refunds, and cash posting Why This Role? * Play a *critical, high-impact role* in a major Epic conversion * Gain visibility with senior leadership and PFS executives * Make an immediate impact on cash flow, AR cleanup, and operational efficiency * Flexible, remote engagement with potential extension through Epic go-live *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract position based out of Vail, CO. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
