NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
Possession of valid Florida Class A/B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Air Brake and Passenger Transport Endorsement or Florida Class A/B Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) with Air Brake and Passenger Transport Endorsement three (3) weeks prior to start date.
Licensed driver for at least three (3) years (time spent driving on a Learner's Permit does not count toward this requirement) and must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a licensed driver for a minimum of three years (time spent driving on a learner's permit does not count towards this requirement)
- No more than one (1) moving violation related to the safe operation of a vehicle in the past three (3) years
- No At-Fault accidents within the last three (3) years
- No Reckless Driving within the last seven (7) years
- No Driving Under the Influence (DUI) within the last seven (7) years - Two (2) convictions (lifetime) for DUI is an automatic disqualification
- No Suspensions related to the safe operation of a vehicle within within the last three (3) years
- No Manslaughter resulting from the operation of a motor vehicle
- No Hit-Run, or Hit-Run Property Damage
- No Reckless Driving causing injury
- No Driving Under the Influence (DUI) causing injury
- No Combination of violations which indicate a pattern of irresponsibility or poor judgment
Ability to work nights, weekends (Saturdays & Sundays), holidays, and various shifts and locations.

SCOPE OF WORK

NATURE OF WORK
This is vehicle operation work in transporting passengers of a mass transit system.
Work involves operating diesel powered passenger buses over prescribed fixed routes within assigned areas. Responsibilities include operating the vehicle carefully, safely, and within the prescribed time schedule. Work is performed within established rules and procedures with the utmost regard for the safety of the passengers, the general public, and all equipment. Work is reviewed by a superior through observation of work activities, and efficiency of operation procedures.
ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS
Operates a county passenger bus according to established routes and schedules; maintains records and logs on travel time, mileage, gas, purchases and passengers served.
Monitors fare collections; issues bus transfers; provides general information to passengers.
Takes vehicle to be serviced to a central servicing area for repairs and/or maintenance.
Performs related work as required.
