Construction Engineer

Building on our past. Ready for the future.
Worley is a global professional services company of energy, chemicals and resources experts. We partner with customers to deliver projects and create value over the life of their assets. We're bridging two worlds, moving towards more sustainable energy sources, while helping to provide the energy, chemicals and resources needed now.

In this role, you will play an integral role in delivering complex, high-impact construction and fabrication projects in some of the most demanding environments in North America. Based in Anchorage with periodic travel to the North Slope, you will operate at the intersection of engineering, field execution, and project management-helping ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest technical standards.

You will collaborate closely with fabrication teams, construction crews, clients, and engineering partners to translate design intent into executable work, while maintaining alignment with project goals, contract requirements, and safety expectations.

Purpose of the role

You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing construction engineering activities that support safe and successful project delivery. This includes developing work packages, managing field engineering teams, supporting procurement and materials readiness, and ensuring technical integrity across all phases of construction and commissioning.

You will also act as a key technical interface between field operations, project management, and engineering teams, ensuring clarity, alignment, and proactive problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle.

Core Responsibilities

  • Drive and promote a culture of Safety Leadership, ensuring an incident- and injury-free workplace where accountability for safety is shared at every level
  • Review and estimate scopes of work, drawings, and technical packages to support accurate planning and execution
  • Collaborate with project management to define schedules, budgets, resource plans, and execution strategies
  • Lead and coordinate a team of field engineers to ensure technical requirements are met in the field
  • Develop detailed field work packages for craft execution, ensuring clarity, constructability, and efficiency
  • Produce technical documentation including hydrotest plans, lift plans, and system completion packages
  • Maintain alignment with contract terms, scope of work, and client deliverables while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards
  • Evaluate project risks, maintain the risk register, and proactively mitigate impacts to cost, schedule, and performance
  • Support procurement and logistics by ensuring materials are available, tracked, and staged for installation
  • Interface with engineering partners on EPC projects to resolve design and constructability challenges
  • Generate and manage RFIs, change notices, and redline drawings to maintain technical accuracy and project continuity
  • Track project actions, capture and distribute meeting minutes, and maintain clear communication across stakeholders
  • Participate in and contribute to design, construction, start-up, and commissioning meetings
  • Prepare and submit daily and weekly progress reports in coordination with field leadership
  • Champion continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, systems, and execution efficiency
