POSITION SUMMARY:


The Senior Manager, Perioperative Education is responsible for leading, developing, and optimizing a high-performing team to support the safe and effective adoption of the Company's innovative solutions across the perioperative care continuum, with a focus on enhancing patient outcomes and experience.



This role requires both leadership skills as well as being a player-coach, directly managing team performance while maintaining an active field presence to model excellence in education delivery and customer engagement.



The Senior Manager is accountable for translating Director-level strategy into actionable plans, ensuring consistent execution and delivery of high-quality education aligned with business priorities. The role partners closely with the Director to operationalize strategic initiatives, while providing field-based insights and recommendations to inform ongoing strategy refinement.



As the team continues to evolve, this role will identify opportunities to enhance execution, strengthen capabilities, and scale impact across priority accounts and programs, contributing to improved care delivery and patient-centered outcomes. This role will also require a strategic assessment of the team to ensure that it is addressing company needs as the franchise continues to grow and expand.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:



  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Perioperative Education Specialists to drive high performance and accountability
  • Provide ongoing field coaching, performance management, and development planning
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and capability building aligned to organizational needs
  • Maintain active field engagement to model best practices in education delivery and customer engagement
  • Provide direct support to priority accounts and key initiatives as needed
  • Execute education strategy aligned to Director-defined priorities and business objectives
  • Operationalize account prioritization, engagement plans, and key initiatives, including patient journey mapping and launch readiness
  • Synthesize field insights and customer feedback into actionable recommendations to enhance execution, inform strategy refinement, and support resource development
  • Ensure consistent execution of standardized education pathways and deployment of best practice resources, protocols, and tools
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clinicians, stakeholders, and centers of excellence
  • Support peer-to-peer education and external engagement initiatives
  • Serve as a clinical resource for perioperative care discussions
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Medical Affairs to align execution of education initiatives
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory, legal, and company standards
  • Ensure timely completion of CRM, documentation, compliance training, and expense reporting
  • Monitor team performance against defined goals and KPIs

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years clinical experience
  • Minimum of 3 years medical device or pharma industry experience
  • Minimum of 5 years managing others in clinical or industry environments
  • Strong knowledge of perioperative patient management
  • Demonstrated experience managing direct reports, including performance management and development
  • Proven ability to drive execution across multiple initiatives, both independently and through direct team leadership, with strong project management skills
  • Thorough working knowledge of hospital policies and clinical environments
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of hospital staff and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively and diplomatically with internal personnel to execute company strategy, including senior management and sales personnel
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and expense tools
  • Ability to travel 75%, including overnights and occasional weekends


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Perioperative and/or Operating room experience
  • Cardiac surgery, thoracic surgery, electrophysiology, or cardiovascular experience
  • Experience in clinical or professional education, field training, or program development roles
  • Experience operating in a player-coach or field-based leadership model
  • Experience supporting team growth and capability development in a scaling environment
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and project management experience



OTHER REQUIREMENTS:



  • Ability to regularly walk, sit, or stand as needed
  • Ability to occasionally bend and push/pull as needed
  • Ability to regularly lift up t0 40 pounds
  • Ability to pass hospital and account credentialing
