Job Title: Product Specialist - Clinical Product Development

Summary:
We are seeking a Product Specialist with strong product development and agile experience to support the design and delivery of these solutions. This role functions as a business? and product?focused specialist, bridging clinical workflows, business needs, and technical execution across multiple products.
As a Product Specialist, you will work closely with product managers, engineers, data science, governance teams, and clinicians to support products through the full product development lifecycle-from discovery and requirements through development, testing, and release.
This role is more product and project?oriented than clinically focused. While healthcare experience is valued, strong product lifecycle, agile delivery, and requirements expertise are the top priorities.
You will support the development of small, EHR?embedded micro?apps, including clinician?facing summaries, patient history views, scheduling tools, and emerging AI/LLM?enabled applications that surface insights from the medical record.
Key Responsibilities:
Product & Requirements Development:
- Document current?state and future?state workflows across clinical and business users
- Gather and synthesize stakeholder requirements across multiple teams and products
- Create and maintain product requirement documentation, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Ensure requirements align with business needs, clinical workflows, and technical constraints
Full Product Lifecycle Support:
- Support products from discovery through development, testing, and release
- Partner with product managers to prioritize features using data?driven insights
- Help teams view the organization holistically and identify cross?product impacts
- Support multiple products simultaneously rather than a single dedicated solution
Agile Delivery & Collaboration:
- Participate in agile product development ceremonies
- Work within Jira and Confluence to manage stories, documentation, and backlogs
- Collaborate closely with engineering, data science, governance, and clinical partners
Testing & Validation:
- Participate in testing against documented requirements and acceptance criteria
- Validate workflows in Cerner or Athena environments
- Collaborate with engineering and QA teams to troubleshoot issues
Clinical & Business Partnership:
- Translate clinical and operational needs into actionable product insights
- Partner with clinicians (nursing, case managers, providers) while maintaining a strong business and systems perspective
- Serve as a liaison between clinical stakeholders and technical teams
Required Qualifications:
- Strong product development and agile experience
- Proven ability to write user stories, acceptance criteria, and workflow documentation
- Experience supporting products across the full product development lifecycle
- Comfort working across multiple products and stakeholders
- Working knowledge of Jira and Confluence
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non?technical partners
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple products simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Cerner or Athena (Epic also acceptable)
- Experience with SMART on FHIR applications
- Exposure to AI, LLM, or data?driven healthcare products
- Healthcare experience (preferred but not required; used as a tie?breaker)
- Experience with analytics tools (R is a plus)
