Job Description:

In this position, the Process & Materials Engineering Intern will work with FormFactor's R&D Team to support the MEMS development and material characterization to improve current capabilities. The intern will apply fundamental semiconductor processing and material science principles to perform material analysis, conduct design of experiments, collect and analyze data, and present results in a technical report. This role provides exposure to semiconductor processing, MEMS development, and material science.

Projects Will Include:

  • Developing High Aspect Ratio MEMS structures.

  • Analyze MEMS structure under SEM for cross-section profile.

  • Research and review potential new materials to improve current MEMS probes.

  • Perform general material characterization techniques.

  • Support failure analysis and rootcause investigations.

  • Write technical reports, summaries, and training documentation.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years toward a bachelor's degree (B.S.) Material Science Engineering or a related field.

  • Strong hands-on chemistry or material science lab experience.

  • Basic understanding of photolithography process.

  • Handson experience handling semiconductor wafers preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a teamoriented, fastpaced engineering environment.

  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.

Pay Range:

$25.80 - $33.86

Pay Range Explained:

This role in Livermore, California pays between $25.80 and $33.86 per hour, depending on your experience, skills, and background. Pay may vary in other locations. We offer a full benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, a 401(k) with company match, employee stock purchase plan (ESPP), and paid time off. You'll also be eligible for quarterly profit-sharing bonuses and flexible spending or savings accounts.
