Job Title: Construction Project Manager - Wireless Implementation
Location: Phoenix, AZ Job Description: This position is responsible for providing direction, execution, control, and successful completion of construction management functions associated with multiple large, complex projects. Small cell projects are temporary initiatives with defined timelines and resource constraints. The role requires strong collaboration with project stakeholders, customers, external vendors, and cross-functional teams to meet project schedules. The candidate will apply industry-recognized project management methodologies, tools, and communication practices to achieve project objectives. Major Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed project schedules and status reports; track key milestones and adjust plans and/or resources to meet construction timelines; update schedules in SiteTracker.
- Identify and mitigate risks, proposing effective solutions to construction challenges.
- Review and approve construction drawings.
- Conduct construction bid walks and evaluate contractor bids.
- Create Bills of Material in collaboration with the Scoping team.
- Support bid creation and scheduling with the Scoping team.
- Assist with material procurement, ordering, and purchase order creation.
- Manage General Contractors and oversee construction of small cell and macro sites.
- Oversee power installation and coordinate activities with local power companies, including site visits as required.
- Coordinate fiber delivery with Outside Plant construction teams to meet project timelines.
- Ensure customer and internal standards are met for site acceptance; verify that closeout documentation is complete and accurate.
- Ensure compliance with jurisdictional standards and permit closeouts; perform or coordinate construction inspections.
- Review and approve contractor invoices based on production and internal evaluations.
- Develop and implement methods to accelerate project delivery timelines.
- Evaluate risks and benefits of alternative designs; perform cost-benefit and ROI analysis; assess impacts of system changes on stakeholders.
Qualifications Required:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field (e.g., project management, construction, ROW engineering, technical operations) or equivalent academic experience.
- Working knowledge of wireless telecommunications construction and related processes.
- Working knowledge of commercial power installation processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to learn additional tools.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Must be located in Phoenix, Arizona.
Preferred:
- Experience with tools such as OPTIX, SiteTracker, UET Remedy, or similar project management databases.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to technical and leadership audiences.
- High level of integrity and sound decision-making ability.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Flexible, analytical problem solver with strong follow-through.
- High-energy team player with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% within Arizona.
Additional Information:
- This role will support both Tucson and Phoenix markets.
