Network Engineer, Senior

The Opportunity:
We are seeking aNetwork Engineer to support the design, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise and tactical networks for the Department of War (DoW). This is an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise inwireless networking, SD-WAN, and cybersecurityto buildsecure and resilient infrastructurethat directly impacts mission readiness and quality-of-life for military personnel and their families. You will be part of a dedicated team addressing critical communication challenges and driving innovation across enterprise and tactical environments.

In this role, you will work on meaningful projects that emphasizemission-critical connectivityand strategic initiatives, enabling secure and scalable networking for the DoW. As the lead expert, you'll collaborate across IT teams to develop and optimize infrastructure that aligns withDoW cybersecurity compliance standardswhile supporting day-to-day operations and enhancing mission readiness.

What You'll Do:

  • Design, implement, and maintainenterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, data center connectivity, and SD-WAN solutions.
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshootAruba wireless LANs, controllers, access points,ClearPass, and SD-WAN technologies such as Aruba EdgeConnect.
  • Conduct networkperformance tuning, analyze packet data using tools likeWireshark, and troubleshoot escalated network issues.
  • Perform and documentcybersecurity vulnerability scans, ensuring compliance withDoW IA standards and STIGs.
  • Develop and maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and technical designs.
  • Assess and optimize network resiliency and availability throughproactive monitoringand automated configurations.

You Have:

  • Experience withArubaorCisco wireless solutionsand SD-WAN technologies such as Aruba EdgeConnect or Juniper SSR
  • Experience analyzing and troubleshooting networks using tools such as SolarWinds, tcpdump, andWireshark
  • Knowledge of routing protocols such as RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, or BGP, and data network protocols, including ARP, DHCP, HTTP, SNMP, and TCP/IP
  • Knowledge of network transport mediums, including fiber and copper, networking backbones, including physical, data, network, and transport, wireless communication infrastructure equipment and services, and network security devices and applications
  • Knowledgeof DoW cybersecurity compliance standards, STIGs, and IA requirements
  • Ability to create and maintainnetwork documentation and diagrams
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED and 10+ years of experience in networking roles, or Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience in networking roles
  • IAT level II Certification

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with network security tools such asPalo Alto or Fortinet firewalls
  • Experience with scripting or automation using tools such asPython or Ansible
  • Knowledge ofcloud networking technologies, including AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • DoW 8570 Compliance Certifications such asCompTIA Security+,Network+, or CCNA Certification
  • Industry Certifications such asAruba Certified Mobility Associate (ACMA)orCisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
