Position Description and Purpose:

Working Relationships: The maintenance Supervisor must possess a collaborative working relationship with all departments including customers, contractors, and 3rd party auditors. Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing in a clear and professional manner, and capable of deescalating issues to achieve collaborated efforts and positive outcome.

Scope of Responsibility:

  • Support - production three consecutive shifts during the day and off shifts.
  • Manage business units within the plant
  • Weekend work as needed to support the plant needs.
  • Ability to adjust work schedule as needed to support shifts.
  • This is a hands-on position. Troubleshooting and working on equipment is required.

Key Essential Functions/Duties:

  • Understand OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Association) standards and ensure compliance throughout the facility.
  • Understand GMPs (Good Manufacturing Procedures) and other legal requirements of the food industry and ensure compliance throughout the facility.
  • Understand, uphold, and help lead efforts to refine Roskam Foods employee safety and food safety programs, as well as food quality and line sanitation programs.
  • Assist production, Quality and sanitation with customer challenges and or complaints.
  • Assist and engage the parts department in maintaining organization, key equipment spare parts inventory, and day-to-day activities for all technicians.
  • Assist personnel who need help with troubleshooting problems, including operations.
  • Work closely with maintenance scheduler/planners Maintaining PM (Preventive Maintenance)/CM Corrective maintenance programs within the facilities ensuring equipment is in proper working order.
  • Enhance the PM (Preventative Maintenance) program throughout the facility to drive equipment reliability, stability of performance and safety of operation.
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts focused on simplifying the operation and efficiency of production equipment and maintenance processes.
  • Conduct process audits to identify opportunities for improvement and standardization of common maintenance tasks.
  • Identify skills gaps across the team in your functional area and help implement training programs to develop the expertise / close the gaps.
  • Accountable for budget performance in maintenance related accounts.
  • Foster a culture that engages employees at all levels to improve the performance and stability of the operations in their functional areas.
  • Oversee maintenance techs to ensure work is completed in a timely manner and all necessary paperwork is filled out correctly using reports available.

Education/Experience/Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or skilled trades background experience in an industrial maintenance setting, preferably in food production, but not required.
  • 5 + years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in food but not a requirement.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70E Arc Flash requirements
  • Capable of reading and interpreting blueprints for electrical, hydraulic and pneumatics systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft AX
  • Detailed oriented with organizational skills.
  • Experience with TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and or AM (Autonomous Maintenance) programs
  • Thorough understanding of industrial automatiom
  • Experience developing maintenance budget

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to safely move and work around moving equipment and in a variety of conditions, including standing for long periods of time.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
