Job Description

The student staff member will serve as a dedicated ambassador for the department, supporting both students and staff through a variety of administrative and academic tasks.

Primary Duties

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:



  • Uploading academic actions into advising notes within Catalyst.
  • Updating department dashboards with provided data.
  • Researching courses and prerequisites at other institutions for course equivalency reviews.
  • Entering student groups and maintaining records in Catalyst.
  • Recording notes in My Bearcat Network (Inspire).
  • Reviewing student records in Catalyst for compliance with academic standards, grade changes, and related updates.
  • Assisting staff with departmental administrative and clerical tasks.
  • Collecting benchmark data and resources to support departmental initiatives.
  • Organizing and maintaining office materials.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned to meet departmental needs.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study.
  • Ability to learn and utilize multiple computer systems and programs.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Dependable, dedicated, and able to work independently.
  • Friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

  • Current UC student in their first or second year; part-time or greater enrollment preferred.
  • Preference given to students pursuing IT-related majors.
  • Due to the sensitive nature of information handled in this role, applicants from the College of Engineering and Applied Science are not eligible.
