Research & Development Co-Op - Fall 2026

The Role:
Our site in Billerica, MA is seeking an Research & Development Co-Op to join our team for the Fall 2026 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration.

The R&D Co-Op role focuses on developing skills in surface chemistry, materials science, and chemical engineering. The candidate will support technology development, new product development, and scaleup activities related to advanced membrane materials used in leading edge semiconductor manufacturing.

What You'll Do:

  • Learn and apply concepts, methods, and equipment used in chemical processing.
  • Conduct laboratory experiments to evaluate surfacemodified membrane prototypes.
  • Support membrane processing experiments to optimize and improve membrane performance.
  • Analyze experimental results and contribute to datadriven decisionmaking.
  • Work closely with R&D Engineers to document processes, methods, and findings.
  • Follow Entegris safety procedures, good laboratory practices, and operational guidelines.

What We Seek:

  • Comfortable working in a chemistry laboratory and following standard lab practices and safety procedures.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint essential).
  • Experience in surface chemistry, characterization techniques (infrared spectroscopy, UVVis, titrations, HPLC, surface property characterization), chemical process development, or related lab research is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move materials or equipment up to 15 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods while performing laboratory work.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE (lab coat, safety glasses, gloves, etc.) for extended periods.

Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in Chemistry, Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related STEM field.
  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program with a graduation date of May 2027 or later

Compensation: $20-$32 hourly range with actual pay dependent on graduation year and candidate skillset
