We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced DevOps developer for our dynamic Computation Simulation (CompSim) DevOps team. Software Engineers work closely with research staff and code development teams in creating and managing applications to support modeling and simulation (ModSim) computational code suites. This position offers the opportunity to improve the stability, productivity, and security of software, to address performance challenges of existing software on emerging next generation platforms, and to guide researchers and code development teams toward better software engineering practices. This role requires a strong understanding of both software development and IT operations, as well as the ability to effectively participate in cross-functional teams delivering high-quality products and services. On any given day, you may be called on to: Help research, conceive, and improve strategies for high-performance parallel algorithms. The selected applicant can be a virtual worker located in any U.S. State or District of Columbia. Regular or periodic travel to your assigned work location may be required. Salary Range
$138,600 - $235,700 *Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential. Qualifications We Require

About Our Team
The Enabling Capabilities for Modeling and Simulation Department (1448) within the Center for Computing Research, offers an array of talent and competencies that help ensure the success of the NNSA Advanced Simulation & Computing (ASC) Programs physics-based modeling and simulation capabilities. From DevOps to User Experience (UX) Research, Scrum Masters, Product Owners and Embedded Analysts, staff in this department work directly with code development teams and end users to ensure the performance and value of ModSim capabilities are realized. A key element of the work is teaming with application and algorithm developers to establish a solid foundation in software methodologies, innovative practices, and maintenance and support for production codes and libraries. The department works closely with other organizations across Sandia and with external collaborators. Posting Duration
