Overview POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI) or designee, the Research Associate I provides operational support to the laboratory. The Research Associate I will perform research experiments as defined by the PI. This position will involve working with Dr. Marie Doyle, an Instructor in the Winder Lab within the Department of Neurobiology. Her research focuses on understanding the neural cells and circuits that underlie alcohol drinking in mice, with a particular interest in individual differences in behavior. Responsibilities include conducting mouse behavioral drinking experiments, performing wet lab techniques (e.g., immunohistochemistry and fluorescent in situ hybridization), and assisting in the development and optimization of open-source behavioral tools. A background in biological science/neuroscience and rodent handling is preferred, but no prior research experience is required. This role is well suited for individuals seeking hands-on experience in behavioral neuroscience research and training in experimental and analytical approaches.
