Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Director of Business Planning & Strategy, Supply Chain.
In this role, the successful candidate as the Director, Business Planning & Strategy serves as a strategic partner to the SVP of Supply Chain, working closely with leaders of functional teams such as Sourcing, Contracting, Procurement, Value Analysis, OPI (Operations Planning & Implementation), Logistics, Data and Transformation. This role enables enterprise-aligned planning, budgeting, and strategic execution, acting as a connector across functions.
This role may have one or two analyst/coordinator reports over time but does not have direct oversight of functional teams. The Director supports budget and strategic planning frameworks, SCM HR efforts including onboarding, calibration, succession planning, engagement, and communication strategies while ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities.
Job Responsibilities:
Strategic & Business Planning
- Assist the SVP in leading the annual and multi-year supply chain operations planning processes
- Support functional leaders in developing actionable plans and performance metrics for the overall group and functions
- Coordinate progress tracking, governance, and executive reporting
Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Lead coordination of operating, capital, and workforce budgets with functional leaders
- Support Finance in aligning assumptions, forecasts, and reporting
- Help leaders understand cost drivers and resource tradeoffs
Organizational Effectiveness & Talent Engagement
- Support development of staff engagement, onboarding, development & talent management strategies
- Partner with HR on career pathways, succession planning, and coordinate participation is enterprise training and work to develop customized programs or workshops for SCM
- Advise and assist in development initiatives tailored to functional needs
Communications & Executive Enablement
- Prepare executive briefings, presentations, and talking points for the SVP and leadership team; coordinate and manage agenda for weekly meetings and monthly forums
- Maintain internal communications channels and supply chain digital resources
- Ensure clear, consistent messaging across functions
Portfolio & Program Integration
- Support cross-functional initiative tracking, risk identification, and resolution
- Coordinate dependencies and integration across functional teams

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree required; Masters preferred
8-10 years of experience in strategy, business planning, operations, or healthcare administration
Preferred Qualifications:
Ownership mentality with a proactive approach in problem solving always looking for way to optimize or improve process
Willing to roll up sleeves and take on tasks outside of direct scope to ensure broader organizational goals are met
Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, and executive communication

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $222,017.06 - $327,475.37 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
