Health Information Technician - AllHealth Network

The Health Information team plays a critical role in supporting clinicians, clients, and external partners across the organization.

As a Health Information Technician II, you will provide advanced, detail-oriented health information services, serving as a subject matter expert in confidentiality and release of information. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, quality-focused, and experienced in managing medical records within a regulated healthcare environment.



What You'll Do

  • Facilitate timely, accurate release of medical records to third party requestors and directly to the client according to organizational policies as well as state and federal confidentiality regulations.
  • Ensure medical record quality, completeness and accuracy through auditing and deficiency tracking.
  • Tracking and reporting of State M1 data
  • As an authority on confidentiality and release of records, fields questions from the Health Information team and the Network


  • Follows appropriate release of information practices for all Protected Health Information.
  • Serves as key contact for clinical providers regarding release of information to external parties and individuals, including timely distribution of requests for records release.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert as needed for all staff and clients with a solid understanding of medical records policies, practices, and regulations related to release of information practices.
  • Ensures the quality of medical records by verifying their completeness and accuracy using audit tools to detect flaws and provide guidance to users of the record.
  • Provide assistance and support with health information documentation flow processes including Certifications and Disability requests.
  • Uses Microsoft Office and other applications to create, enter, and pull reports from audit databases. Shares findings with appropriate leadership and assists in corrective action plans.
  • Management and retrieval of records stored in offsite archive.
  • Responsible for maintaining the privacy and security of medical records in both electronic and paper form while providing excellent customer service.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with staff and clients.
  • Works at various AllHealth Network locations as directed/needed to provide health information technical expertise, support and training.
  • Follow all AllHealth Network policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required within the scope of the position and the experience, education and ability of the employee.


    What You Bring

    • Completion of an associate-level Health Information Technician program or equivalent experience.
    • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) credential preferred.
    • Minimum of two years of experience in a medical office, health information, or secretarial role.
    • Strong data entry skills with demonstrated accuracy and efficiency, including the ability to type at least 50 wpm.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and electronic health record systems.
    • Solid knowledge of medical and clinical records, confidentiality standards, and release of information practices.
    • Strong attention to detail, quality orientation, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently, collaborate with team members, and provide excellent internal and external customer service

    Position Details:

    Full Time

    Location: Multiple Allhealth locations as needed



    Compensation:

    $22 - $25


    The base salary range represents the low and high end of the AllHealth Network hiring salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, merit, and the ability to embody the AllHealth Network mission and values. The range listed is just one component of AllHealth Networks' total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives as well as a generous benefits package detailed below.
