Job Summary You will develop and maintain a stable production schedule by interpreting client forecasted demand and backlog, taking into account the available site capacity and resources while ensuring revenue targets are met. You will be responsible for defining and executing procedures and techniques that develop best practices for scheduling products, while also balancing operational execution and contractual requirements.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
* Developing a production schedule for assigned products, providing sufficient lead time to procure raw materials and manufacturing components to meet production forecast requirements.
* Establishing daily production schedules to determine in which sequence products and components will be manufactured.
* Ensuring production capacities are fully scheduled and planned.
* Overseeing the process for schedule changes and ensuring root causes for volatility are resolved.
* Working closely with other functional areas to drive and own KPI's such as on-time delivery, service level, customer request date service level, past-due backlog, and lead time.
* Rescheduling the shop floor as required to meet lead time requirements.
* Providing order administration with status and delivery information; identifying and removing obstacles that will hinder schedule attainment & performance.
* Leveling load factory (capacity), ensuring achievement of customer requirements while maximizing efficiency and minimizing inventory.
* Working closely with the Production Control Manager & Lead Scheduler to determine that the needs and constraints of the manufacturing shop floor, technicians and schedules work accordingly.
* Developing a 5-day fixed / level schedule to stabilize production, supply chain, and overall planning.
* Utilizing solution-based tactics/strategies to meet monthly targets.
* Developing solutions plans for streamlining processes and mitigating risks so that material will flow more smoothly.
* Analyzing risks to identify solutions and bottlenecks, including forward and reverse scheduling methods.
* Following the progress of jobs from start to finish and taking necessary action with production control (OT, shifts, outsourcing) to maintain schedule periods.
* Keeping schedule updated, as well as shop/machine loading plans, to predict bottlenecks or slack periods.
* Ensuring accuracy of information, reconciling supply and demand, and validating scheduling requirements.
* Adhering to all safety rules and policies as determined by the organization.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Ability to execute the weekly/monthly planning cycle, maintain long-term forecasts to improve MRP accuracy.
* Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite programs, including excellent Excel skills (ability to understand and develop macros preferred), and SAP
* Proficient understanding of safety practices within operations.
* Proficient at analyzing site capacity requirements, identifying mid- to long-term bottlenecks, and discussing corrective action with site management.
* Strong knowledge of capacity and materials planning.
* Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
* A self-starter who is solutions-driven and can produce results.
* Strong analytical reasoning and strategic thinking skills.
* Strong attention to detail.
Education and Experience
* A bachelor's degree, ideally in Engineering.
* 2 years of experience in planning and scheduling in a manufacturing environment.
* SAP experience required.
* Experience with valves preferred.
* APICS certification preferred.

* Required daily to stand, sit, walk, talk, hear, and see (specific close vision abilities are required to perform computer work)
* Regularly required to lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
* Must be willing and able to deal with extreme heat and be physically fit to acclimate to intermittent exposure to radiant heat.
* Will be required to wear PPE.
