Job Summary

Loudoun County's Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Service is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Assistant Manager. Under the overall guidance of the appointed supervisor, this role is responsible for managing a County Center. Depending on the assigned center and area, this position supervises customer utilization of the facility; evaluates collected data to guarantee effective facility usage; approves contracts to maintain cleanliness and safety of the facility; acts as the main point of contact for the swim team and facility rentals; recruits, hires, trains, schedules, and oversees staff; manages the fiscal budget and tracks the Center's expenditures; develops, promotes, and executes programs and events for the Center; and ensures the quality and diversity of programs while also focusing on revenue generation.
We are currently hiring for the following location(s): * Senior Center at Cascades, Sterling, VA
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Directs customer service and administrative support related to front desk operations; ensures that the policies and procedures of the Recreation Center are adhered to; and maintains the staffing schedules. * Designs and implements the approved staffing framework for the Center's functional divisions; interviews candidates and recommends new hires when needed; and keeps staff records, documentation, and reports for the relevant programs. * Oversees the care and maintenance of the Center facility. * Implements Center programs and events. * Creates a management plan along with a budget for the program. * May carry out additional critical job responsibilities pertinent to the specific role and departmental assignment.

Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Recreation or Leisure Services, Social Work, Gerontology or related field depending on assigned area; two (2) years related work experience in program and facility management working with the public, working with the frail elderly or special populations, groups, and organizations including one (1) year of supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Must undergo background checks, including criminal, fingerprinting, and credit. Pass TB test within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter. OSHA (Bloodborne pathogens) training within 30 days of hire; First Aid /CPR/AED, and ServSafe certifications within 90 days of hire; complete. A sworn disclosure statement or affirmation must be completed annually, disclosing any criminal convictions or pending criminal charges, irrespective of their occurrence within or outside the Commonwealth of Virginia.
