We are seeking a Research Specialist with an understanding of, and demonstrated skills in, techniques involved in in vitro and highly specialized in vivo (in particular, murine) models of mycobacterial infection and the evaluation of drug efficacy. The individual will rely on knowledge and experience to assist in the planning and conduct of a pre-clinical research program in antibiotic development for treatment of tuberculosis and infections with other mycobacteria. Under general supervision, the individual will be assigned projects for stepwise assessment of the activity of new drugs in vitro and in mouse models and will be responsible for developing protocols for PI approval. The Research Specialist performs a range of assays and experiments specific to an area of research, requiring a good understanding of the work of the laboratory. Makes contributions various aspects of research efforts. Perform routine troubleshooting and help with training and orientation of others working in the laboratory. Specific Duties & Responsibilities
