Overview
The video game industry is at an inflection point where emerging technologies and new business models are changing the way the world plays and connects through digital entertainment. This position will join the team providing frontline legal support for the Xbox Organization, which builds and evolves the technologies, tools, and services that power gaming across console, PC, cloud, and emerging experiences-including those enabled by AI. You will support business teams working on developer tools, platform capabilities, and new consumer experiences, partnering closely with engineering, product, marketing, and operations teams to bring innovative ideas to players around the world. In this role, you will lead and execute a broad range of transactional work and provide daytoday counseling to business teams as they develop and scale new platform features and experiences. You will advise on commercial agreements, licensing, and strategic partnerships, while also serving as a trusted advisor on product development, gotomarket planning, and risk management. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of cuttingedge technology, creative entertainment, and evolving legal and regulatory frameworks-helping teams move fast while building responsibly. Legal Counsel IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $132,200 - $232,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,800 - $248,600 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
