Endodontist Faculty Position - Immediate Opening
West Virginia University - Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center

West Virginia University School of Dentistry in Morgantown, West Virginia is seeking applications for a full-time, 1.0 FTE clinical track, faculty member at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level, to serve as a faculty member in the Department of Endodontics.
This position involves classroom, laboratory, and preclinical instruction as well as supervision in both the predoctoral and postdoctoral clinics. Faculty are expected to coordinate educational experiences with all departments in the School of Dentistry and the Health Sciences Center. Scholarly activity, service and the pursuit of personal development within the School of Dentistry are required of faculty members. Faculty are expected to participate in an intramural dental practice.

Qualifications

The candidate must have a D.D.S. or D.M.D. degree from an accredited U.S. or Canadian dental school or a foreign equivalent and satisfactory completion of a CODA accredited postgraduate training program in Endodontics. Advanced training and a certificate in Endodontics is required. Though not a requirement, board certification by the American Board of Endodontics or the desire to obtain board certification will be favorably considered. The candidate should be able to document successful teaching and clinical practice in an academic setting.

The candidate must be able to obtain a West Virginia dental license or West Virginia teaching permit (Please visit the West Virginia Board of Dental Examiners for information regarding licensure). Candidates should also demonstrate effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; evidence of positive leadership skills; and a strong commitment to student development, patient care, academic excellence, service, and collegiality.

West Virginia University School of Dentistry is located in the historic community of Morgantown, West Virginia. Located only 80 miles south of Pittsburgh, Morgantown is easily accessible to major metropolitan areas in the East and Midwest.

The School of Dentistry is one of 14 colleges in a major, land-grant research University and is part of a comprehensive Health Sciences Center which includes the Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Public Health, the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center and West Virginia University Hospitals. The Health Sciences Center campus is also the home of the new Blanchette Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and a new Library/Learning Resource Center.
