The Quality Inspector is the final authority for Quality Assurance on product quality within the facility. This role exists to identify risk early, enforce standards consistently, and prevent customer-impacting defects.

2nd Shift Hours: 1:00p - 9:30p + OT as needed

Core Responsibilities

Product & Process Inspection:



  • Inspect incoming materials, in-process fabrication, and finished HDPE products against:
  • Customer orders, drawings, specifications, and standards
  • Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections
  • Verify weld quality, fabrication workmanship, and material conformity
  • Document all inspections clearly and accurately
  • Stop work and escalate when quality requirements are not met


Quality Systems & Compliance:



  • Apply and enforce the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Understand and correctly use all quality documentation, procedures, and work instructions
  • Support and maintain certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, FM, customer-specific requirements)
  • Participate in internal, external, and customer audits
  • Maintain organized, traceable, and retrievable quality records


Nonconformance & Corrective Action:



  • Identify, document, and manage:
  • NCRs, PRAs, RGAs, customer complaints, and internal defects
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action development
  • Verify effectiveness of corrective actions
  • Communicate quality issues clearly to production, engineering, and management


Testing & Measurement:



  • Perform product testing as required (internal or customer-requested)
  • Properly use and care for inspection and testing equipment
  • Assist with management of M&TE calibration status and records
  • Verify operational and performance qualifications where applicable


Training:



  • Train production personnel on quality requirements, inspection points, and defect awareness
  • Maintain training and competency records
  • Reinforce quality expectations through daily interaction on the shop floor


Minimum Qualifications



  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Manufacturing or trade experience
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
  • Basic math, measurement, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
