In this role, you'll be the engineer teams turn to when a challenging issue with Keysight's high-power instruments needs deeper investigation. Working with power supplies and electronic loads, you'll use the instruments firsthand to recreate customer problems, troubleshoot their causes, and help customers and service engineers reach a resolution. You'll also support service centers with complex calibration and repair questions and work with product development, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve how these products are supported. If you enjoy hands-on problem solving and collaborating across a global team, you'll have the opportunity to make a direct difference for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced post-sales technical support for Keysight's high-power products, primarily power supplies and electronic loads.
  • Investigate complex customer escalations by troubleshooting instruments, reproducing reported issues, identifying causes, and coordinating a path to resolution.
  • Work directly with customers and provide technical guidance to field service engineers, remote engineers, and other support teams.
  • Help service centers resolve difficult calibration, repair, and product support issues.
  • Partner with product development, quality, manufacturing, and other teams to resolve issues and improve product reliability and supportability.
  • Develop support plans, repair strategies, and technical processes that prepare teams to support new products.
  • Create technical procedures, support documentation, and training for service and support teams.
  • Provide product and measurement expertise for technical customer inquiries, including pre-sales opportunities when needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Typically, 4-5 years of relevant experience in technical support, applications engineering, product engineering, or a related electronics role, with the ability to work independently on complex technical issues.
  • In-depth knowledge of electronic instruments, power supplies, electronic loads, or related electrical measurement technologies.
  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues, identifying root causes, and guiding customers or internal teams toward resolution.
  • Working knowledge of at least one programming or automation language or tool, sufficient to read customer code and help reproduce a reported issue. Software engineering expertise is not required.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain technical findings to customers and collaborate with engineering, service, and other teams.
  • Ability to work onsite in Budd Lake, New Jersey, to investigate issues using the instruments firsthand.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with high-power supplies, electronic loads, or Keysight products.
  • Experience in the test and measurement or semiconductor industry.
  • Experience using Python, C, C++, C#, LabVIEW, Visual Studio, or similar tools to troubleshoot instrument or customer application issues.
  • Experience supporting service centers with calibration or repair issues or preparing support plans and technical procedures for new products.
  • Experience providing technical input for pre-sales customer inquiries or training field and remote support teams.
