SFCS is seeking a Construction Administrator to join our Charlotte, North Carolina office. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with architects, engineers, interior designers, contractors, and clients while supporting projects throughout the construction phase across a variety of market sectors.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced, mid-level, construction administration professional who enjoys collaborating with project teams, solving challenges in the field, and ensuring projects are constructed in accordance with the design intent and contract documents. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service throughout the construction process.

Qualifications


  • Certificate, associate's degree, or bachelor's degree in Building Construction, Architecture, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in construction administration within an architectural, engineering, or construction environment.
  • Experience supporting commercial, healthcare, senior living, education, government, multifamily, or other institutional projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, project specifications, and AIA contract documents, including AIA A201 General Conditions.
  • CCCA (Certified Construction Contract Administrator) certification is preferred.
  • Experience utilizing Newforma, Bluebeam, or similar construction administration software is preferred.
  • Strong written, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and project teams.
  • Willingness and ability to travel moderately to frequently in support of project site visits, construction meetings, and client needs.


Responsibilities


  • Manage construction administration activities for assigned projects from notice to proceed through project closeout.
  • Review and process Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, shop drawings, change orders, construction change directives, proposal requests, architectural supplemental instructions, and related project documentation.
  • Perform site observations and monitor construction progress to verify compliance with design intent and contract documents.
  • Meet regularly with owners, contractors, consultants, and project teams to support successful project delivery.
  • Maintain project logs and documentation, ensuring timely tracking of correspondence and construction activities.
  • Review contractor applications for payment and assist with evaluating project progress.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, interior designers, and contractors to resolve construction-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation utilizing Newforma, Bluebeam, and other project management tools.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal team members throughout all phases of construction.
  • Stay current with construction practices, building codes, contract administration procedures, and industry best practices.
