Seeking a dependable and safety-focused Mobile Health Unit Driver to operate our 38-foot RV-style mobile clinic and support community-based healthcare services throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. This role is an exciting opportunity to help bring essential healthcare services directly to the community, including vaccinations, routine health exams, and chronic disease management. The Mobile Health Unit Driver plays a key role in ensuring our mobile clinics operate safely, efficiently, and effectively at community locations and special events. Reporting Structure This position reports directly to the Mobile Unit Manager. When assisting with Public Safety or Facilities duties, the employee will receive guidance from the Public Safety Manager. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. - Operate a large motor vehicle to transport the mobile health unit, equipment, and supplies to designated clinic locations and community events
- Ensure the mobile unit is parked in a safe location, away from traffic and potential hazards
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and driver maintenance, including observing and reporting vehicle defects or equipment malfunctions
- Conduct routine vehicle checks and communicate maintenance or service needs promptly
- Refuel the mobile health unit as required
- Maintain scheduled routes and timelines while adjusting as necessary for traffic, weather, or other conditions
- Assist the mobile health unit clinical team with the setup and breakdown of offsite clinics
- Pack, load, and secure medical supplies and equipment for mobile clinic operations
- Ensure equipment and materials are properly secured to prevent damage during transport
- Operate the mobile unit awning or canopy system as needed during clinic setup
- Assist with connecting the mobile unit to electrical sources and ensure the electrical panel and batteries are powered up or down appropriately at the start and end of events
- Support the safe disposal of trash and biohazardous waste in accordance with established procedures
- Provide operational support before, during, and after offsite clinics
- Assist the mobile health unit team in directing and escorting patients and visitors as needed
- Maintain the safety and security of the mobile unit, staff, and equipment, utilizing de-escalation techniques when necessary
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of interior mobile clinic equipment
- Support daily cleaning and sanitation of the mobile unit to maintain a safe and clean environment
- Demonstrate excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills when interacting with patients, staff, and community partners
- Work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple tasks, and perform effectively in fast-paced environments
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Pre-employment drug test required
- Possess a valid Wisconsin driver's license, current vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation to travel to assigned work locations
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred but not required
- Experience working with clients in community-based settings
- Ability to contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment
- Demonstrates a professional attitude, cultural competency, and respect in interactions with staff, patients, and community members
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum of three (3) years of driving experience with no record of at-fault driving infractions
- Proven ability to provide excellent customer service, preferably in a fast-paced healthcare or community service environment
- Previous experience driving a large truck, camper, RV, or similar recreational vehicle preferred
