Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Post in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, support access control and visitor flow, and report security-related concerns with clear, professional communication. You will stay visible to help reduce unwanted activity while delivering customer-focused service to patients, staff, and guests. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff, patients, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare setting.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support and timely notification to appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, corridors, parking areas, and the perimeter, observing for unusual activity and conditions that may help to deter unwanted behavior.
  • Monitor access points and common areas, assist with visitor directions, and support adherence to location rules regarding authorized access and restricted areas.
  • Complete patrol and incident reports, maintain activity logs, and communicate observations to Allied Universal leadership and/or site contacts as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
