About the Team

Our Packaging Design Group is a multidisciplinary team specializing in the creation, evolution, and activation of packaging across complex brand portfolios.

This role sits within a dedicated retainer team supporting one of our largest and most dynamic clients. The work spans multiple categories, formats, and product lines - requiring precision, speed, curiosity, and systems-level thinking.

This is not a slow-cycle, single-project environment. It is fast-paced, collaborative, and deeply embedded in the client's business.

About the Role

As a Senior Designer, Packaging Design, you are a highly skilled, conceptually strong designer with deep Consumer Packaged Goods experience and a passion for crafting intelligent, scalable design solutions.

You bring both exceptional design craft and the ability to think beyond individual SKUs, building cohesive visual systems across categories, sub-brands, and product architectures.

You thrive in a high-speed environment, confidently balancing multiple priorities while maintaining creative integrity and design excellence.

This role requires a designer who is:

  • Independent & self-directed: able to own projects with minimal oversight
  • Collaborative: elevates the team while confidently "owning it" when needed
  • Systems-minded: comfortable designing for brands that span several categories
  • CPG savvy: understands shelf impact, hierarchy, and consumer behavior
  • Adaptable & resourceful: excels in fast-moving, ever-evolving workflows

On Any Given Day, You Might:

  • Translate briefs into compelling, strategically grounded design solutions
  • Develop packaging concepts and design systems across multiple categories
  • Extend and evolve existing brand worlds with precision and consistency
  • Balance speed, accuracy, and creativity in a deadline-driven environment
  • Champion design integrity across adaptive and production workflows
  • Collaborate closely with Creative Directors, Design Directors, and Client Services
  • Confidently present and articulate design rationale
  • Navigate ambiguity with curiosity, clarity, and initiative
  • Apply strong typographic, compositional, and visual hierarchy skills

Own Photography & Visual Asset Development

    • Develop clear and effective pre-production documentation (shot lists, visual guidelines, creative direction)
    • Art direct photography to ensure alignment with brand and packaging objectives
    • Guide composition, styling, lighting, and visual storytelling decisions
    • Partner with photographers, stylists, and production teams
    • Direct and provide feedback to retouching teams to maintain visual consistency and quality
    • Champion image integrity across packaging systems and portfolio applications

The Ideal Person

  • Possesses a standout portfolio demonstrating premium CPG packaging work
  • Brings extensive packaging design experience, ideally across multiple categories
  • Thinks naturally in design systems, portfolios, and product architectures
  • Excels in fast-paced, high-volume workflows
  • Is a self-starter who proactively owns projects
  • Balances creative ambition with commercial effectiveness
  • Demonstrates exceptional typography, layout, and visual hierarchy skills
  • Is confident, articulate, and collaborative
  • Understands packaging production and print realities
  • Is resourceful, adaptable, and solutions-oriented
