Job Description

TTCA Thin Films Process Engineer III

Position Summary:

As a Thin Films Process Engineer at TEL Technology Center, America, you will be responsible for leading scientific research to develop innovative processes and advancements in the fields of ALD, CVD, and PVD for semiconductor technologies. In this role, you will collaborate with key stakeholders to demonstrate feasibility of new process technologies. This includes transferring process learning and provide guidance to TEL factory engineers to create innovative leading-edge tools and processes for TEL's customers.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Design, execute, and analyze experiments to conduct research, development, and optimization of semiconductor technologies.
  • Develop novel processes and applications in the areas of logic, memory, analog, and emerging technologies.
  • Establish procedures, equipment configurations and adopt a hands-on approach to sustain and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Collaborate with industry partners, research consortia, material suppliers and universities to generate new solutions to develop leading edge thin film products for TEL.
  • Identify potential intellectual property opportunities to ensure timely disclosures to maintain a strong patent portfolio.
  • Domestic and international travel, as necessary for internal and external meetings (10-20%)

Qualifications and Experience:

  • PhD is required in Material Science, Chemistry, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields, preferably with experience related to semiconductors. Alternatively, a MSc in related fields with more than 5 years of industrial experience in semiconductor technologies.
  • 1 to 3 years of experimental experience in semiconductor processing, especially in ALD, CVD, PVD.
  • Experience in semiconductor materials and processes for advanced logic and/or memory devices.
  • Demonstrates understanding of semiconductor technology and/or process equipment technology.
  • Familiar with materials characterization techniques such as XPS, SIMS, RBS, AFM, TEM, Ellipsometry, XRD, XRR, and electrical characterization.
  • Ability to work daily in a cleanroom environment with hands-on processing using research systems for process development.
  • Able to independently manage process development projects, solve problems and drive results.

Physical Demands and Work Conditions
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 35 pounds. This position also requires 4 to 6 hours per day at a computer screen/keyboard.

Salary Ranges$98,199.92 - $138,774.94

Individual pay is determined based on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skills, job-related knowledge, relevant education, certifications, and/or training. In addition to base salary, we offer (full time regular employees ) a comprehensive benefits package and for certain roles eligibility in our bonus plan and long-term incentives as applicable.
