The Scheduler is responsible for scheduling procedures and/or appointments. Working under direct supervision, this role also assists with data entry, secretarial duties, and administrative duties in order to assist the department in providing high quality patient care. The schedule for this role is Monday - Friday, 4 hours a day to a total of 20 hours a week. Essential Job Function Ensures the correct patient and procedure are selected for the appointment by using available sources to obtain/validate patient demographics and insurance information. Matches orders to the correct scheduled exam and initiates solutions for incorrect orders and lab results in a timely manner, if applicable to department. Assists with accurately completing pre-registration for scheduled procedures and/or appointments in order to ensure that it includes complete documentation of authorization information. Works closely with the pre-authorization team in order to ensure financial clearance guidelines have been met. Helps schedule anesthesia for adult sedation patients, if applicable. Performs other duties as assigned. Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent Experience Required: 1 year of experience Licensure/Certification/Listing
