Licensed Practical Nurse Washington, DC Pay From: $36 per hour MUST: Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the District of Columbia Flexible to work Wednesdays and other days as needed Experienced Licensed Practical Nurse with 1+ years of direct patient care experience Recent acute care experience in medical Emergency, Urgent care, or other inpatient units or experience working with homeless population, patients with behavioral health or being treating for mental illness or substance use disorders Experience in/passion for public health and community nursing Handling wound care Ability to perform well in high-pressure or stressful situations Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Current DC Licensed Practical Nurse license Current BLS/CPR certification DUTIES: Provide direct patient care Handle wound care Monitor and assess patients Obtain vital signs Assist with medication management Gather information for a clinical care plan, Educate clients on medication administration and management, overall health management and condition monitoring. Supervise the CNA, ensuring that they are fulfilling all their responsibilities over the course of the twelve-hour shift (vital signs, ADL assistance, documentation, etc). Monitor patients closely for changes in health status Complete wound care and other nursing Communicate and develop plan of care with the medical provider Complete daily or frequent nursing assessment and/or medical exam as indicated by care plan Identify and implement strategies to support independence in health management.
