Senior IT Project Manager

The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for planning and managing network, software, hardware, and IT infrastructure projects for a growing dental service organization. They will be required to balance scope, cost, and time to deliver successful projects. The IT Project Manager monitors projects daily to track progress against the schedule, mitigates risks, resolves issues and manages project changes. Project complexity and team size will vary from small to large. This position works collaboratively with other departments to ensure the project is aligned with business needs and acts as a central information source for each project.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Create and manage thorough project plans, delivering on project objectives for IT-based projects.
  • Plan and communicate how projects will be managed including risk/issue management, change control, and communication.
  • Create and manage thorough project budgets.
  • Ensure projects meet business needs and that the project team and stakeholders understand the project deliverables, value, scope, and timeline.
  • Engage the project team in the development of project schedules based on properly defined scope, project deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Manage risk management plans to identify, document, define mitigation plans, track, escalate and resolve project risks, issues, barriers, and dependencies.
  • Manage change requests and modifications to the project plan.
  • Perform in a consultative role to provide options for business owners to respond to major changes and risks on initiatives that have a technology component.
  • Assure deliverables are reviewed and quality is achieved as planned.
  • Facilitate regular status meetings and communicate project progress to key stakeholders.
  • Proactively communicate information needed by team members to complete their tasks.
  • Identify process improvements, collaborate with stakeholders on resolutions, and implement solutions.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:


  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or another related field required; in lieu or degree 4+ years of related experience may be considered
  • Project Management Certification (PMP or equivalent) preferred, but not required

JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE:


  • 3+ years of project management experience required
  • Implementations and/or other customer-facing projects required
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • 1+ years of Agile/Scrum experience preferred


DEMONSTRATED JOB-RELATED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:


  • Strong computer skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio
  • Exceptional skills in the following: communication, presentation, time management, problem solving, relationship-building, and team player
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, professional writing, time management, and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in working with colleagues, other departments, and customers
  • Ability to work in a fluid, fast-paced environment and remain appropriately detail-oriented
  • Demonstrated customer service and organizational skills
  • Independent thinker and ability to work autonomously
