Job Overview

Responsible for providing leadership direction and management of resources, processes, and initiatives necessary for the delivery of clinical pharmacy services across the hospital.

Additional Information
Hours per week: 40, eligible for benefits
Shift: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm, work hours may vary based on the needs of the department. This role will participate in leadership on-call and holiday rotation.

Eligible Incentive: Relocation assistance is available for qualified external applicants.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops annual work plans used to achieve goals and performance metrics.
  • Develops and coordinates clinically related quality and safety improvement programs addressing clinical services, drug information, pharmacist interventions, pharmaceutical care, therapeutic drug monitoring and clinical outcomes, with the goal of ensuring the safe and efficient provision of services by the department. Develops and conducts quality assurance monitoring and auditing to demonstrate compliance with hospital and department policy and procedures, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
  • Participates in leadership activities for division, contributing to the achievement of goals and objectives; evaluates team performance. Defines and maintains internal processes for function; establishes customer service standards and handles operational and customer service escalations for function. Serves as a champion of enterprise-wide culture, influencing culture change to support functional objectives.
  • Assigns and reviews work, provides work instruction (OTJ or formal training) and develops team members. Evaluates performance of team members, providing continuous feedback. Manages discipline and performance issues, hires, and fires team members. Identifies resource needs and develops recommendations for meeting needs.
  • Manages communications to the enterprise on projects and hot topics related to functional area.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with peers in division, peers in other divisions, and senior leadership.
  • Participates in developing budget recommendations, monitoring budget, and identifying cost saving opportunities.
  • Works on highly complex or controversial projects; performs project management activities. Provides technical expertise on programs, processes, and best practices.
  • Ensures compliance against federal, state, and local regulations for functional area.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSPharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)

  • Experience: Four (4) years of work experience as a Clinical Pharmacist

  • Equivalency:

    • Completion of a Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) pharmacy residency is considered equivalent to two years of professional pharmacy experience.

    • Completion of a Postgraduate Year Two (PGY2) pharmacy residency is also considered equivalent to two years of professional pharmacy experience.

  • Certifications:

    • Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) Certification required within 1 year of start date in position.

    • BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least 6 months left before expiration is required upon hire

  • Licensure: Licensure as a pharmacist in the state of Colorado or eligible to sit for licensure

Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $150,808.54 to $226,212.81
