The Home & Garden business unit of Spectrum Brands is based in St. Louis, Missouri with distribution, manufacturing and sales offices throughout the US and globe. Job Summary

The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for all activities pertaining to the Warehouse and Trailer Services Department. These activities include receiving components, shipment of raw and finished goods to and from the production lines, and accurate inventory control across multiple warehouses and staging locations. The department consists of approximately 8 salaried and 40 hourly employees who support a 24x7 manufacturing schedule. The ideal candidate is exceptionally detail-oriented and able to manage multiple facets of warehouse operations simultaneously.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Partner with Manufacturing to ensure timely and accurate movement of materials between the component warehouse and the production facilities
  • Manage and annual budget of $4.7M not including salaries or depreciation
  • Manage, identify, and implement best practices for raw materials, finish goods, and storage accuracy through SAP
  • Storage and management of all raw chemicals in accordance with current regulatory guidelines
  • Continuous improvement on key performance indicators (KPIs) including safety, inventory accuracy, quality, and cost
  • Manage all maintenance for fleet of trailers, forklifts, tractors, and offsite storage
  • Develop and implement a strategic vision to improve the warehouse operations, including practices, systems, facility, equipment, change management etc.
  • Collaborate and partner with other functions to improve, inventory planning, JIT shipments and flexible schedules
  • Oversee forklift and shipping training programs in accordance with state and federal regulations
  • Create and maintain a positive environment for all employees
  • Responsible for selection and training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising employee performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems and disputes
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Model the Spectrum Brands Core Capabilities to achieve service excellence, meet and exceed organizational objectives and support fiscal responsibility
  • Other duties as assigned


Education and Experience Profile

  • Bachelor's degree and seven to ten years of experience of warehouse management, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Five years of manufacturing/distribution experience and previous supervisory experience required.



Required Skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook
  • SAP system experience required
  • DOT regulations

  • Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and managerial skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization

Work Environment

  • 50% manufacturing/warehouse environment and 50% normal office environment
  • Not in a temperature-controlled environment - must have ability to withstand temperatures 90 degrees and above

The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions as well as hot and cold environments. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and flammables. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Must have the ability to complete a hands-on mechanical machine operational test as well as a written test.
