- In this
position you will be a key member of the Electronics Gases research and development team at the Linde Technology Center (LTC) in Tonawanda, NY, and you will engage and collaborate with Linde's regional businesses, global customers, OEMs, and suppliers to develop and commercialize new materials, purification technologies, delivery systems, and packaging solutions for their use in the Electronics specialty gases (ESGs) and advanced materials market - In the area of New Product Development, you will execute projects to commercialize new specialty gases for the Linde Electronics business
- In the field of Process Optimization, you will identify opportunities to improve existing chemical processes; develop and implement protocols to measure, analyze, improve, and control process performance
- Develop into a recognized internal expert in electronics specialty materials production, providing technical guidance across projects
- You will support
alignment of Electronics R&D team with development partners, commercial team, and customers throughout all stages of technology development - You will actively
engage in internal and external technical collaborations to identify opportunities for new products and development programs - IP Development - Prepare invention disclosures and contribute
to the development of Linde intellectual property portfolio
What makes you great
- Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field plus 5+ years of post-PhD industrial experience with product development within UHP specialty gases
- You have demonstrated success in commercialization of specialty chemical processes, preferably ESGs
- Handson experience with labscale work involving highpurity, hazardous ESGs, including analysis, purification, mixing, and packaging
- You have a proven track record in the development, design, and startup of labscale systems or pilot plants for handling ESGs across cryogenic to hightemperature ranges and ultrahighvacuum to highpressure conditions
- Experience scaling chemical processes from lab to plant level
- Proficiency with chemical process modeling software (COMSOL, UniSim, Aspen), with emphasis on ESG purification and distillation
- Experience with P&ID development and review, HAZOP, PHA, and design safety reviews, with demonstrated ability to integrate safety into process development
- Further, you have the ability to work independently and adapt in a fastpaced R&D environment with shifting priorities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including email, technical documentation, and presentations
- Excellent interpersonal skills and effectiveness in collaborative teamwork
