Maintenance Technician - Roadhouse

Location: Kanab, Utah

Hiring Range: This position's hiring range is anticipated to be $17.00 to $18.00 per hour, depending on experience, plus great benefits!

Position Summary:The Maintenance Technicianmaintainsthe Best Friends Roadhouse & Mercantile making sure all mechanical systems are in top condition. This is a hands-on position requiring excellent guest-first customer service. Preventative maintenance planning is a requirement for this position. Tech will work with the Roadhouse Manager toestablishpriorities, complete work in a timelymannerand ensure budget adherence. From time to time, the Roadhouse Maintenance Tech will contact licensed, insured tradespeople toaccomplishwork at the Roadhouse.In the event ofemergencies, the Roadhouse Maintenance Tech will work with the Roadhouse Manager to decide if other Best Friends resources arerequired.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• You are responsible and accountable for the culture of your team.

• Adhere to a safety-first approach.Demonstrate best practices in safety and in the use of protective equipment.

• Maintain Materials Safety Data Sheets on allappropriate products.

• Identifyproblems and challenges and offer solutions to the Roadhouse Manager.

• Maintain tools inventory. Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies,toolsand equipment necessary tomaintainthe property.

• Perform routine maintenance and repair, such as changing light bulbs, tightening toilet seats, shovelingsnowand placing cinders etc.

• Assistin cleaning up after emergencies, such as overflowing showers and toilets, broken dishes and animal accidents on floors and furniture.

• Assistguests with unusual needs, i.e., jumping a dead battery, pushingvehicleout of the mud orsnowand contacting other associates toassist.

• Annual re-freshes and touch ups for all the Roadhouse rooms.

• Landscaping.

• Other duties as assigned by theRoadhouse Manager.

Skills and Experience:

• AHigh School Degree or equivalent.

• Previousbuilding maintenance experience.

• Outgoing positive personality and communication skills.

• Attention to detail, flexible andenjoyshandling a variety of tasks.

• Must have a valid driver's license and qualify for BFAS insurance

Physical Requirements:

• Must be ableto routinelylift 40 pounds or morein order toperform maintenance duties.

• Must be able to work out of doors in all weather conditionsin order toperform maintenance duties.

• Must be able to perform routine strenuous physical activityon a daily basisincluding walking, standing, bending, crouching, kneeling, ascending and descending ladders and other equipmentin order toperform maintenance duties.
